On July 9, 2015 I filed a freedom of information act (FOIA) request with the FBI asking for all files relating to Loyd Dorsett.
Their response is attached. Short answer: the FBI found no relevant records.
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
I am requesting any and all files relating to Loyd G. Dorsett and the companies owned by Mr. Dorsett. Mr. Dorsett and his companies were primarily located in the state of Oklahoma. His companies include Dorsett Educational Systems, Dorsett Electronics, Dorsett Products, Dorsett Controls, Dorsett Princeton Research Center, and Dorsett Technical Institute. Date range: 1917 though 2000.
Mr. Dorsett died in 1999. Proof of Mr. Dorsett's death is here http://www.ancientfaces.com/person/loyd-g-dorsett/70100574 and here http://www.mocavo.com/Loyd-Dorsett-1917-1999-Social-Security-Death-Index/10621695109683763482
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at archive.org. Mr. Dorsett and his company were major players in the formation of the early computer-based education industry, and are of great interest from a historical perspective.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request be filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you for your time.
